About Rebekah A

Rebekah A Courvoisier earned her law degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1993. She finished law school during a period of change in the legal profession and carried that momentum into practice. Her early training set the stage for a career that has spanned state and federal courtrooms.

Her bar admissions and court privileges reflect a broad geographic reach. She is admitted to practice in New Mexico and Colorado. She holds privileges before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the federal district courts in New Mexico. Those admissions allow her to handle matters at multiple levels of the judiciary.

Over the years she has combined courtroom work with bar and civic involvement. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association’s New Mexico chapter since 2019. Locally, she has been active in the 12th Judicial District Bar Association since 2009, and she has served as that association’s treasurer since 2020. Her service on the 12th Judicial District’s Pro Bono Committee dates to 2015. The roles have kept her involved in the practical and administrative concerns of the bench and bar.

Colleagues describe a lawyer who prepares thoroughly and values clarity in court filings and oral argument. She has handled matters in both state trial courts and federal forums. She has experience taking cases to appellate courts and pursuing strategies appropriate to each level. Her courtroom experience includes contested hearings and appellate briefs.

She founded and operates COURVOISIER LAW, LLC, where she handles litigation and court work arising from her admissions. The office has handled matters brought in state courts in New Mexico and Colorado as well as in federal district courts. Running a small firm has also involved docket management, client counseling, and coordinating with co-counsel and experts when cases require that support.

Rebekah balances client work with sustained bar participation. She continues to serve on professional committees and on the board of a chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Her current practice centers on litigation in New Mexico and federal courts.
