About Rebecca
Rebecca Hill earned her J.D. from Capital University Law School. She came to law school after undergraduate studies that led her to federal court externships and a fast start in private practice. Her academic background prepared her for both trial-level and appellate work.
While in law school Hill served as a judicial extern in two federal courts. In 2020 she worked in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio under Judge Michael H. Watson. The following year she served as a judicial extern to Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Those placements exposed her to the differing rhythms of district and appellate dockets and to the mechanics of federal judicial decision-making.
After graduating, Hill joined Mansell Law as an associate in 2021. The role marked a transition from learning in courtrooms to practicing at a firm. She has been licensed to practice in both Ohio and New York and maintains an active membership in the State Bar of Ohio. Her bar memberships allow her to work on matters in multiple jurisdictions and to move between state and federal procedures as cases require.
Colleagues describe Hill as methodical in her legal work. She has balanced courtroom experience from her externships with the demands of firm practice. That background informs how she prepares filings, approaches discovery and coordinates with clients. She tends to bring a courtroom-minded perspective to pretrial strategy and motion practice, shaped by firsthand observation of federal judges at work.
Outside of casework Hill has participated in bar-related activities tied to the State Bar of Ohio. Those engagements have kept her connected to developments in state practice and procedure. They have also supported the professional networks that emerging lawyers often rely on as they build their caseloads.
Hill’s career so far tracks a common arc: formal legal education, judicial externships that offered direct exposure to federal courts, and an early years’ position at a firm. She remains at Mansell Law, practicing under licenses in Ohio and New York and continuing to build experience in matters that arise in those jurisdictions.
She currently practices at Mansell Law, concentrating her work on matters arising in the jurisdictions where she is licensed.
