About Rebecca E.P.
Rebecca E.P. Wade graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1998 after earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1993. She completed her studies during a period of change in legal education. The combination of economics and law shaped an analytical approach to legal problems early in her career.
After law school, Wade built a practice centered in Illinois. Her work has been conducted in state courts and in administrative forums. Over time she developed an emphasis on careful legal research and clear written argument. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and deliberate, favoring clear lines of reasoning over rhetorical flourish.
Her background in economics informs how she evaluates disputes and counsel clients. She uses that training to break complex issues into discrete parts and to explain the implications of different legal paths. That perspective has guided her assessment of risk and remedy in a range of matters. She is comfortable handling both procedural questions and substantive legal analysis.
Wade’s practice has involved representation of private parties before Illinois tribunals and participation in contested proceedings. She has worked on matters that require close attention to statutory detail and evidence. Her work is oriented around building records that support legal claims and defenses, and around preparing persuasive written submissions for judges and administrative decision-makers.
Outside of litigation, Wade has spent time counseling clients on compliance and transaction-related concerns that intersect with state law. She favors practical solutions that reflect the economic realities her clients face. She keeps current on developments in Illinois law and adjusts strategies as statutes and rules change. She currently practices law in Illinois.
