About Raymond Talmage
Raymond Talmage Wooten earned his law degree from the University of Georgia in 2010 after completing an undergraduate degree in economics at Clemson University in 2007. He arrived at law school with a background in economic analysis. That training appears to inform the way he approaches factual and financial issues in litigation.
After finishing law school, Wooten established his practice in South Carolina. He is licensed in that jurisdiction and has maintained an active role in the local legal community. Over the years he has taken on courtroom work and advisory roles, blending trial practice with case preparation and client counseling.
Wooten has been active in professional organizations that concentrate on trial work and plaintiff-side advocacy. He holds memberships in the South Carolina Association for Justice, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He has also been involved at the county level, serving as a past president of the Pickens County Bar Association while remaining a current member. Those roles have given him regular exposure to peer education and courtroom strategy discussions.
Colleagues describe him as methodical on the big-picture points and detail-oriented when it comes to documents and deposits. He has worked on cases that require both negotiation and courtroom presentation. He prepares witnesses, drafts pleadings and handles motion practice. The combination of his economics background and litigation experience shapes his approach to damages analysis and case valuation.
Wooten practices at Smith Jordan, P.A., where he is one of the attorneys listed with the firm. At that office he handles civil litigation matters and participates in trial preparation and hearings. His workload includes managing discovery, drafting dispositive motions and representing clients at trial when disputes advance to that stage.
He currently concentrates his practice on personal injury and civil litigation matters at Smith Jordan, P.A.
