About Raymond

Raymond Rapposelli built a legal career that moves between municipal chambers, housing authorities and the courtroom. He studied government and the law in New Jersey, earning an undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College in 1984 and a law degree from Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 1987. Those early academic steps laid the groundwork for a practice rooted in local institutions and public service.

He began his professional life in roles tied closely to community needs. Early on he served as public defender for the Borough of Newfield, representing individuals facing criminal charges. He also took on counsel work for nonprofit and quasi-public entities, including People Against Spousal Abuse and the Gloucester County Housing Authority. These positions exposed him to domestic-violence matters, housing-law disputes and the practical demands of representing clients with limited resources.

Rapposelli’s municipal involvement extended beyond legal representation. He was elected to serve as a councilman in Washington Township and participated in local land-use decisions through service on the Washington Township Planning Board. Those elected and appointed roles gave him experience on both sides of municipal governance — advising boards and answering to voters.

In private practice he has been associated with several firms and has maintained his own offices. His experience includes periods as counsel and partner in smaller firms, the operation of the Law Offices of Raymond J. Rapposelli, P.C., and a role as Of Counsel at Helmer, Conley & Kasselman, PA. He has also practiced under the name Fritz & Rapposelli. That mix of solo and firm-based work allowed him to handle a range of matters, from individual criminal defense to complex landlord-tenant and housing authority disputes.

He remains an active member of the Gloucester County Bar Association, maintaining ties to the local legal community. Over the years he has operated offices across southern New Jersey, with locations identified in Turnersville, Bridgeton, Freehold, Hackensack, Somers Point, Vineland, Willingboro and Woodstown among others.

The arc of his career makes municipal law and public-service representation a through line. He balances courtroom work with counseling boards, agencies and individual clients. His current practice focuses on municipal and housing law, criminal defense, domestic-violence matters and land-use and planning work.
