About Raymond

Raymond Bodiford studied at two Florida universities. He earned a B.A. from the University of Miami and followed that with a J.D. from the University of Florida. Those formative years set the stage for a practice grounded in litigation and appellate work. He built his legal foundation on classroom study and courtroom experience.

He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. After law school he entered private practice in Florida, handling civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Over the years he has appeared in trial courts and taken cases on appeal, bringing a litigation perspective to complex disputes.

Bodiford is active in bar and trial lawyer organizations. He currently serves as Chair of the Product Liability Section of the American Association for Justice. In that role he leads programming, coordinates educational efforts, and works with other section leaders to plan meetings and resources for members. His AAJ leadership places him at the center of professional conversations about product safety litigation and procedural developments affecting plaintiff-side practice.

Much of his practice involves product liability matters. He handles claims involving alleged design and manufacturing defects, failures to warn, and related theories of liability. He represents clients in cases that require coordination of expert testimony, investigation into product histories, and management of complex discovery. He also brings appellate experience to bear when questions of law or procedural rulings require review beyond the trial court level.

Colleagues describe his courtroom work as straightforward and focused on the mechanics of litigation rather than rhetoric. He prepares for hearings and trials with detailed attention to evidence and witness preparation. That practical approach extends to settlements and pretrial strategy, where he evaluates risk and procedural posture before making recommendations.

Outside of the AAJ role, he maintains a practice in Florida, handling matters at the trial level and on appeal. He is admitted to the Eleventh Circuit, which allows him to pursue federal appellate remedies when cases present federal issues or jurisdictional grounds for review. He remains engaged in the evolving issues that affect product liability law and litigation practice.

He currently practices product liability and related litigation.
