About Rashad
Rashad Blossom combines a finance background and a law degree to shape a practice centered on consumer bankruptcy and consumer protection. He completed a B.S. in finance at the University of Alabama in 2000 and earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2005. His academic path gave him tools to evaluate both the numbers and the legal arguments that arise in debtor-credit matters.
He began his legal career at Burr & Forman LLP after law school. There he handled matters that introduced him to bankruptcy and consumer-credit issues. In 2009 he moved to Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, joining a larger firm environment and taking on more complex litigation and regulatory work. Those years in private practice exposed him to a range of creditor and debtor perspectives.
Blossom has balanced practice and professional service throughout his career. He was vice chair of the Bankruptcy Law Committee for the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division from 2009 to 2011. He joined the Alabama State Bar in 2005 and later became a member of the North Carolina State Bar in 2013. His involvement in bar and professional groups continued with memberships in the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers starting in 2015 and the National Association of Consumer Advocates since 2013. He also serves on the Communications Committee of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, a post he has held since 2016.
Those organizational roles reflect an interest in the policy and practice of consumer bankruptcy as much as they do court-level advocacy. His earlier finance training informs how he evaluates repayment plans, claims, and creditor conduct. Over time he has applied that blend of legal and financial analysis to disputes over dischargeability, automatic stay violations, and plan confirmation contests.
Blossom now practices under the name Blossom Law PLLC. At his firm he handles individual bankruptcy cases and related consumer matters. He represents debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases and advises on the implications of bankruptcy for secured and unsecured debts. Clients encounter a lawyer familiar with both large-firm procedure and smaller-firm client service.
He holds active membership in the bar associations of both Alabama and North Carolina and remains involved in national consumer-focused groups. He currently concentrates on consumer bankruptcy and related consumer advocacy.
