About Randy Scott
Randy Scott Metz returned to the classroom after several years in practice to earn an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2010. He earned his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 2002. Those two degrees bookend formative stages in his legal education: formal training followed by advanced courtroom study nearly a decade later.
He is admitted to practice in both Colorado and Pennsylvania. Over the years he has built a practice centered on courtroom work. The LL.M. in Trial Advocacy signals a particular investment in trial skills. That training appears in how he prepares cases for hearing and trial, in jury instructions, and in cross-examination planning.
Metz’s career path has blended litigation and trial work. After completing law school he entered private practice and later pursued additional study to refine his trial technique. He has handled pretrial motion practice, discovery fights and casework that requires a steady presence in court. His approach is meticulous and pragmatic; he aims to present clear legal themes to judges and juries rather than rely on technical flourishes.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who prefers to let courtroom performance speak for itself. He spends time on witness preparation and the mechanics of trial. The LL.M. program he completed is known for its focus on simulation and practical exercises, and Metz has brought those methods back into his day-to-day practice. He prepares demonstratives, practices openings and closings, and focuses on the narrative elements of a case.
At Park & Metz, LLP he serves as a lawyer who handles litigation across the two states where he is licensed. His work includes motion practice, settlement negotiations and bench and jury preparation. He also advises clients on case evaluation and trial readiness. He is comfortable in both state and federal court settings where the disputes require formal litigation rather than alternative dispute resolution.
Outside the courtroom he maintains ties to continuing legal education, keeping trial technique current as rules and courtroom technology evolve. He balances written advocacy with live presentation. He currently practices at Park & Metz, LLP, representing clients in civil litigation and trial matters across Colorado and Pennsylvania.
