About Randall

Randall Ryder studied social dynamics and the law before he went to law school. He earned a B.A. in sociology—concentrating on law, criminology and deviance—from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 1997. He continued legal studies at William Mitchell College of Law in 2006 and completed his J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School in 2007.

After law school Ryder began building practical courtroom experience. In 2008 he worked as a law clerk at the Ramsey County Public Defender's Office, handling legal research and case preparation for trial attorneys. That early exposure to criminal defense and public service shaped how he approached client work and litigation strategy in later years.

He moved into consumer litigation soon after. In 2009 Ryder served as director of consumer litigation at The Glover Law Office LLC. There he managed consumer cases and supervised litigation steps on a range of matters involving debt, credit reporting and related disputes. In 2011 he launched The Ryder Law Office, LLC and has practiced as owner and attorney since then. His practice has continued to emphasize matters that affect individual consumers.

Ryder has maintained ties to legal education alongside his practice. Since 2011 he has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, bringing classroom discussion to cases and courtroom realities. He has also been active in volunteer legal services. Since 2010 he has served as a volunteer attorney with the Volunteer Lawyers Network, taking on pro bono matters and helping low- and moderate-income clients access legal help.

Professional memberships run through much of his career. He has been a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association since 2009 and joined the National Association of Consumer Advocates that same year. He also holds membership in the Federal Bar Association beginning in 2011. Those affiliations reflect the overlap of litigation, federal practice and consumer protection in his work.

Ryder combines classroom teaching, volunteer work and private practice in a single professional life. He continues to run The Ryder Law Office, LLC and teaches law students at the University of Minnesota. He concentrates his practice on consumer litigation and related matters.
