About Randall R.
Randall R. Saxton has built a career that moves between public service, private practice and organizational leadership. He trained at Mississippi College, earning a B.S. in History and English in 2002, a J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2007 and an M.S. in Administration of Justice in 2010. Those degrees form the foundation of a practice rooted in state law and public administration.
Saxton began taking on legal responsibilities early. In 2002 he served as general counsel for R&S Development, Inc. and for Randall Saxton Real Estate, Inc. That work predated a series of public-sector internships and fellowships. In 2008 he was an executive legal intern in the Mississippi Secretary of State’s office and spent a summer law fellowship in Washington, D.C., with The Fund for American Studies.
He became a licensed lawyer of The Mississippi Bar in 2012. Shortly after, he appears on local professional rosters and took on roles in bar- and community-oriented groups. He chaired the Mediation Committee for Jackson Young Lawyers and has been active in the Capitol Area Bar Association and the Mississippi Bankruptcy Conference’s Technology Committee. He formed or joined Saxton Law, PLLC in 2013 as a member of the firm’s team.
Saxton’s public-sector resume expanded in the 2010s. He served as a judge advocate in the Mississippi State Guard beginning in 2014 and later held the title of chief of staff and senior lawyer at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency in 2017. He has also served as general counsel for private entities as that work intersected with development and real estate matters.
His professional associations reflect a mix of military, prosecutorial and bankruptcy interests. He has been a member of the Conference of Mississippi Prosecutors and the American Institute of Bankruptcy Lawyers since 2014. He is listed as a barrister of the Charles Clark Inn of Court beginning in 2019 and has maintained involvement in the State Guard Association of the United States and the Mississippi State Guard Association, where he has held leadership positions.
Saxton is a notary public for the State of Mississippi and is licensed to practice in Mississippi and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He remains in active practice at Saxton Law, PLLC, handling matters that draw on his background in state law, emergency management and real estate.
