About Ramsey
Ramsey Hanafi earned his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law in 2008, after beginning his legal studies in 2005. He built his legal foundation in San Francisco, where he studied law through an era of changing practice and shifting public policy. His formal education placed him among peers engaged in litigation and public-interest work.
After law school, Hanafi established a private practice in California. He serves as principal of the Law Office of Ramsey Hanafi. In that role he manages case intake, client counseling and litigation strategy. He has handled matters that required courtroom work as well as transactional and advisory tasks for individuals and small organizations.
Hanafi’s professional memberships reflect a mix of trial, civil liberties and community-focused legal work. He is a current member of the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and belongs to the National Lawyers Guild. He also maintains membership in the AIDS Legal Referral Panel of the San Francisco Bay Area. Those associations point to ongoing ties with colleagues who litigate, advocate and provide legal services in public-interest settings.
Colleagues describe Hanafi as a lawyer who balances case preparation with attention to clients’ larger goals. He arranges discovery, drafts pleadings and argues matters where litigation is necessary. He also spends time on client intake and counseling, helping people understand procedural steps and possible outcomes. His practice requires frequent contact with opposing counsel, court staff and administrative agencies.
Hanafi’s work is rooted in the California legal system. He holds membership in the bar of that state and handles matters that arise under California law. He has kept his practice in the Bay Area legal community and continues to take cases that involve civil litigation and related legal services.
Outside the office he participates in professional gatherings and educational programs sponsored by local legal groups. Those activities keep him connected to developments in trial practice, civil liberties law and legal services for vulnerable populations. They also provide networking opportunities with other lawyers who handle jury and bench trials.
He practices from the Law Office of Ramsey Hanafi in California, where he represents clients in a range of matters arising under state law.
