About Ramona A
Ramona A Gau has built a steady career in Missouri courts over two decades. She earned her law degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia in 2006 and moved into trial work soon after. That early courtroom experience shaped how she approaches cases today.
Following law school, Gau began her professional life as a trial lawyer for the State of Missouri. Those first years gave her frequent exposure to contested hearings and courtroom procedure. She handled a range of matters that required regular appearances before judges and juries, allowing her to develop practical skills in advocacy and case preparation.
In 2014 she shifted into private practice. Over the next several years she broadened her work, taking on matters that required negotiation as well as litigation. In 2016 she returned to public service as an assistant circuit lawyer for the City of St. Louis. In that role she handled courtroom dockets and worked closely with prosecutors and court personnel. The job added another layer to her courtroom experience and reinforced her familiarity with local practice and procedure.
Gau moved into firm leadership in 2017 when she became a partner at Marler Schrum Law. She continued on that path in 2019, taking a partner role at Marler Law Partners. At the firms she has combined trial experience and practical case management. Partners describe her as someone who manages files through all stages of litigation, from initial filings to trial preparation.
Her work is based out of Marler Law Partners’ Farmington and St. Louis offices. She divides time between those locations depending on court schedules and client needs. In the office she handles case strategy, client interviews and motion practice. In court she focuses on trial advocacy and evidentiary hearings. She currently practices at Marler Law Partners, splitting her time between the Farmington and St. Louis offices and handling civil litigation and trial matters.
