About Ramon
Ramon Olivencia earned his law degree from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2001 after earlier studies at the University of Puerto Rico—Río Piedras, where he completed general studies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston. That academic path paired public affairs and legal training early in his career.
He began his post-law school work as a law clerk in 2002 at the State Court of Appeals. That clerkship led to an initial period in public service at the Puerto Rico Department of Justice, where he worked in the Office of Civil Litigation beginning in 2004 and later joined the Office of Legal Counsel in 2008. Those roles involved courtroom filings, brief preparation and advising on litigation strategy for the Commonwealth’s civil matters.
After his time at the Department of Justice, he moved into contract work in the United States. He served as a contract attorney for Update Legal in New York in 2013 and later for Epiq in 2017. Between those engagements and alongside other professional activities, he began providing document and notarial services under the name Abogado Notario Online, formally listed as a Lawyer-at-Law and Notary Public in 2016. His legal standing includes certification as a lawyer from 2002 onward.
His admissions span trial and appellate forums. He is admitted to practice in Puerto Rico and in New York. Federal admissions include the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. That mix of state and federal credentials has supported work ranging from state civil litigation to federal appellate filings.
Colleagues describe him as practical and methodical in handling filings and courthouse matters. He has handled litigation support, civil litigation tasks for government clients, contract attorney assignments for major legal services providers and notarial duties for individual clients. His public-sector work gave him experience in drafting pleadings and legal opinions, while his contract positions exposed him to high-volume document review and litigation support environments.
He currently practices under the name Abogado Notario Online, offering legal document, notarial and litigation support services. He maintains active bar status and continues to accept matters that draw on his experience in civil litigation, appellate procedure and notarial services. His current practice focuses on providing legal document services, notarial acts and litigation support for clients in Puerto Rico and New York.
