About Raffi
Raffi Ohanian studied law at Southwestern University School of Law, where he completed the academic training that led him into private practice. His legal education gave him a grounding in litigation and transactional basics, and it set the stage for a series of early experiences in California firms.
He began his practical legal work as a summer law clerk at Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley, LLP in 2006. That clerkship was followed by an associate role in 2007 at Carroll Kelly Trotter Franzen & McKenna. Those early years offered steady exposure to firm practice and the day-to-day responsibilities of client work, research, and drafting.
By 2009 Ohanian had moved to Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman as a senior associate. That position implied greater responsibility on matters handled by the firm and a larger role in supervising projects and coordinating with clients and colleagues. In 2014 he took a lawyer position at Thon Beck Vanni Callahan & Powell; that role marked another chapter in his practice within California’s legal community.
Throughout his career he has remained active in the State Bar of California. His membership in the bar is current. Over time his roles have reflected a conventional progression through associate, senior associate and lawyer positions at several firms, giving him familiarity with firm operations and client representation in a private-law setting.
Ohanian’s practice has been based in California firms since his clerkship years. He continues to work at Thon Beck Vanni Callahan & Powell, handling matters and serving clients from that office. As of 2026 his practice is carried out in California and he maintains his active standing with the State Bar of California.
