About Rachele R.
Rachele R. Selvig built a foundation in the liberal arts before turning to law. She earned a B.A. from Reed College in 2003 and later attended New School University. She completed her legal education at Lewis & Clark Law School, receiving a J.D. in 2009.
After law school, Selvig entered practice in Oregon. She is admitted to the Oregon bar and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Those admissions have shaped the cadence of her work; she appears in both state and federal venues and handles matters that move between trial courts and appellate panels.
Her career includes time in private practice at Davis, Hearn, Anderson & Turner PC, where she works alongside colleagues on contested matters. At the firm she has taken on litigation responsibilities that require preparation for hearings, drafting court filings, and arguing motions. Colleagues describe her as methodical in courtroom preparation and exacting in legal research.
Selvig keeps professional ties current. She maintains active membership in a professional association. That engagement has kept her connected to peers and to developments in procedural law, evidence rules, and appellate procedure. She has also continued to refine courtroom skills through hands-on work rather than through public-facing commentary or frequent publication.
Her work shows attention to both detail and strategy. She balances attention to record-building with a readiness to test novel legal points when the circumstances call for it. Clients and opposing counsel have noted her steady presence at hearings and her willingness to press arguments before appellate panels when necessary. Her practice demands precision in brief writing and the temperament to manage contested deadlines.
Outside the courtroom, Selvig’s earlier academic path — the combination of Reed College and New School University followed by Lewis & Clark Law School — informs her approach to legal problems. That background gives her a blend of analytic rigor and familiarity with different styles of argument.
She continues to practice at Davis, Hearn, Anderson & Turner PC in Oregon. Her current practice focuses on litigation and appellate matters.
