About Rachel L

Rachel L Shkolnik earned her J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law. She moved from law school into practice prepared for the day-to-day demands of litigation. Her legal education emphasized courtroom procedure, statutory analysis and case strategy.

After graduating, Shkolnik joined Napoli Shkolnik PLLC as an associate. Her responsibilities there have included drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, and managing the discovery process. She works alongside more senior attorneys on case development and trial preparation, contributing to client interviews and witness preparation when matters progress toward contested hearings.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in her preparation and clear in her writing. She spends substantial time reviewing documents and building factual timelines. That work underpins how she frames legal arguments and prepares exhibits and deposition outlines.

She maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. Those include the American Association for Justice, the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association (BWBA), the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the New York Bar Association. She also holds another current membership in a professional association. Participation in these groups keeps her connected to continuing education and the evolving practice norms among litigators.

In firm matters she balances research and client contact. She prepares motions and responses and supports settlement negotiations when appropriate. Court filings and calendar management are regular parts of her routine. She also spends time mentoring newer staff on procedural issues and practice mechanics.

Outside of casework, she attends seminars and bar events that focus on trial practice and professional ethics. Those settings provide opportunities to follow developments in evidence, procedure and appellate practice. She has used that learning to refine how she approaches case strategy and client counseling.

Shkolnik’s approach to the law is pragmatic. She aims to identify the strongest legal theories and to test them early through focused discovery. Her work emphasizes clarity and organization. She writes plainly and arranges complex facts into a coherent narrative for judges and opposing counsel.

She continues to practice as an associate at Napoli Shkolnik PLLC, where she handles litigation tasks, client matters and related courtroom work as part of the firm’s team.
