About Rachel K.

Rachel K. Leff-Kich combines a foundation in social science with a formal legal education. She earned a B.A. from the University of California, Davis in 2004, majoring in Sociology and Law & Society. Six years later she completed her J.D. at Santa Clara University School of Law, finishing in 2010.

Her undergraduate training gave her an early interest in how institutions shape behavior and public policy. That perspective carried into law school, where coursework and clinical opportunities framed legal questions in social context. Classrooms and clinics offered different tools. The sociology background supplied a way to see patterns. The law degree supplied the tools to act on them.

After law school she entered the practice of law. Over the years she has handled legal matters that draw on both analytical and interpersonal skills. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and attentive: careful review of facts, measured legal analysis, and an emphasis on clear communication with clients. She balances legal research and strategy with the practical aspects of managing cases and client expectations.

Her work reflects an interest in law as it interacts with everyday lives. That interest shows up in how she frames issues for clients and courts, and in the kinds of questions she pursues in litigation and negotiation. She has represented individuals and advised clients on matters that require both legal accuracy and an awareness of broader social dynamics.

Outside the office she has remained connected to continuing legal education and to conversations about the role of law in public life. Keeping current on case law and procedural developments is a routine part of her professional practice. She has participated in seminars and local legal education offerings to maintain that engagement.

Colleagues note that she brings steadiness to client relationships and clarity to complex issues. She structures cases so clients understand options and likely outcomes. That practical orientation guides how she manages files and communicates through each stage of a matter.

Today she continues to practice law, drawing on her J.D. from Santa Clara and her undergraduate studies in sociology and law and society to inform how she advises clients and approaches legal problems.
