About Rachel E.

Rachel E. Gusman earned her Bachelor of Science from Washburn University in 2005 and a J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2008. Her legal training combined classroom study with the practical demands of a busy regional law school. She entered the legal profession after law school and built a practice rooted in courtroom work and litigation.

Gusman is licensed to practice in Oklahoma and holds admission to the 10th Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect a practice that spans trial and appellate work. Over the years she has handled matters that require appearances in both state and federal forums. She approaches cases with attention to procedural detail and an eye for appellate issues when they arise.

Her professional life includes sustained involvement in bar organizations and advocacy groups. She has served on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice since 2015. She has been a Minority State Delegate to the Oklahoma Association for Justice since 2014 and is an active member of the Tulsa Women s Lawyer Association. Her engagement in these groups has included policy discussions and program work oriented to trial lawyers and civil justice topics.

Gusman has also taken on leadership roles in local legal communities. She served as Chair of the Young Lawyers Division for the Tulsa County Bar Association in 2013. She joined the board of Lawyers Fighting Hunger in 2012 and continues to serve on that board. Her early service on the Oklahoma Bar Association board within the Young Lawyers Division began in 2013 and remains part of her professional profile.

Colleagues describe her as steady and practical in court. She tends to combine thorough preparation with an ability to prioritize the issues that matter most to a case. That approach has underpinned her work in both jury trials and appellate filings. She maintains a practice that requires regular courtroom appearances and regular drafting of briefs for higher courts.

Gusman maintains a practice based out of Tulsa and remains active in statewide and national lawyer networks. Her current practice focuses on litigation in federal and state courts.
