About R. Sadler

R. Sadler Bailey built a trial practice centered in Tennessee and the Sixth Circuit. He studied business at the University of Tennessee, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1980. He completed his law degree at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 1984 and pursued postgraduate study, receiving an LL.M. from Emory University in 1986.

He launched his firm, Bailey & Greer, PLLC, in 1987. That decision came after several years of early practice and study. Over time he established a courtroom-oriented practice. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee, before the Sixth Circuit, and in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

Bailey’s career has been marked by sustained involvement in trial advocacy groups. He has been a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates since 2003 and joined the Melvin M. Belli Society in 2002. He is listed with the American Association for Justice President’s Club since 1990. He also maintains a membership in The National Trial Lawyers. At the state level he has played a leadership role; he served as president of the Tennessee Association for Justice and remains active in the organization.

His education and professional affiliations point to a practice built around courtroom work and jury trials. Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who values preparation, clear presentation and direct engagement in court. He has handled cases in state and federal forums and maintains the credentials to appear in the principal federal court that covers western Tennessee.

Bailey & Greer operates from a base in Memphis and maintains a Jackson office. The firm also accepts appointments in Nashville by arrangement. The practice has pursued cases across the region and continues to litigate matters in both state and federal courts.

Across nearly four decades in practice, Bailey has combined advanced legal study with sustained involvement in trial organizations. He has balanced running a private firm with maintaining memberships that connect him to peers who try cases regularly. He continues to lead at Bailey & Greer and to accept jury trial work in Tennessee and federal courts.

He currently concentrates his practice on civil trial litigation in state and federal courts.
