About Phyllis
Phyllis Widman built a measured path into law through a sequence of study and practice that blends communications, criminal justice and legal training. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and followed that with a master’s degree in communications before completing her Juris Doctor. Later in her career she returned to study criminal justice at Rutgers University–Newark. That academic range has shaped how she approaches client work and court matters.
Her legal education took place at Syracuse University, where she completed both undergraduate and graduate studies in the 1990s and earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. She later added a master’s degree from Rutgers University–Newark in criminal justice. Those credentials sit alongside bar admissions that permit her to practice in New Jersey and to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Widman moved into practice and into firm leadership. She is the owner and managing lawyer of Widman Law Office LLC. In that role she has handled the day-to-day decisions of a small firm and overseen client matters across the state. Her firm provides a local point of contact for people seeking legal help in New Jersey.
Her professional activity extends beyond client files. Widman holds memberships in the Atlantic County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is also a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators. Those affiliations reflect an ongoing engagement with the legal community and with alternative dispute resolution practice in the state.
Colleagues describe her as someone comfortable working in court and in mediation settings. She maintains the formal credentials to appear in New Jersey courts and before the nation’s highest court. Her practice has a steady, local footprint through Widman Law Office LLC, where she manages client matters and the firm’s operations. She continues to serve clients in New Jersey and maintains her admissions to the U.S. Supreme Court and the New Jersey bar as part of her ongoing practice focus.
