About Phillip

Phillip Haack built a foundation in the sciences and the law before entering practice. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University in 2000 and completed his legal training at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, receiving his J.D. in 2008. Those years shaped both his analytical approach and his interest in the practical side of legal work.

After law school he moved into private practice. He spent part of his career at Fenwick & West LLP, where he worked on client matters that required close attention to business realities as well as legal rules. His time there exposed him to a range of transactional and commercial issues and to the demands of advising corporate clients in fast-moving environments.

Haack is admitted to practice in California. He has handled matters that called for clear contract drafting, negotiation, and the kind of problem solving that occurs when business teams and legal teams must reach agreement under time pressure. His colleagues describe him as methodical in handling facts and practical when weighing risks.

Across his work he has balanced three recurring themes: careful legal analysis, concise written work, and an eye for commercial consequences. He does not rely on technical jargon. He prefers plain explanations that help clients make decisions. That approach came through in matters where deadlines and financial considerations mattered as much as legal precedent.

Clients who worked with him found that he combined courtroom awareness with an appreciation for deal mechanics. He has been involved in preparing agreements, advising on compliance matters, and supporting internal corporate processes. The scope of his practice has sometimes required coordinating with outside advisors and with in-house teams to move projects forward.

Today Haack continues to practice law in California. He brings to his current work the experience gained at Fenwick & West LLP and his earlier academic training at Stanford and UC Law San Francisco. He currently practices in California and focuses on corporate and commercial matters.
