About Peter V.

Peter V. Bellotti built a career that moves between the courtroom and the classroom. He completed his undergraduate degree at Connecticut College in 1978 and earned his J.D. from New England Law | Boston in 1984. Those years set a clear path into public service and private practice.

He began his legal work as a prosecutor in 1985 at the Middlesex County District Lawyer's Office. That early experience put him inside the trial process and the rhythms of local criminal and civil enforcement. Two years after starting there, he shifted toward private practice and, in 1989, became managing partner at Bellotti Law Group, P.C. He has led that firm through multiple decades, overseeing casework and the firm’s operations.

Teaching has been a steady thread alongside practice. In 1995 he served as an adjunct professor of constitutional law in the Department of Government and History at Curry College. He brought courtroom experience into the classroom and encouraged students to consider how legal doctrine affects public institutions. The courses he taught reflected practical questions about constitutional principles and everyday governance.

Bellotti is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He maintains memberships in the Massachusetts State Bar and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to local courts and to the broader legal community in the state.

Over time his work has combined trial experience from his prosecutorial years with the responsibilities of firm leadership. Colleagues and clients have described him as methodical and steady. He handles litigation matters that require familiarity with Massachusetts procedure and federal court practice, relying on years of courtroom work rather than on a single specialty label.

His practice history shows a pattern: public service early on, a move to private firm leadership, and periodic returns to education and public conversation about law. He still manages cases and mentors younger lawyers at Bellotti Law Group, P.C., where he has been a principal since 1989. The firm’s operations and his courtroom appearances remain centered in Massachusetts.

He currently practices at Bellotti Law Group, P.C., handling matters in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
