Peter P. Meringolo is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1998 and holds bar number 197136. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Meringolo is a co-founder and attorney at PMRK Law, LLP, a law firm based in San Francisco, California. Mr. Meringolo earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law) in 1998. During his time at Hastings, he served as the Senior Executive Editor of the Hastings Law Journal and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He received the Outstanding Service and Achievement Award and the Albert G. Evans Award in Private Enterprise. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991.
Mr. Meringolo concentrates his practice in the areas of business litigation and insurance recovery. He represents businesses, entrepreneurs, executives, artists, and start-ups in various business-related matters, including insurance coverage disputes, breach of contract, intellectual property disputes (trademark and copyright infringement), breach of fiduciary duty, and fraudulent transfer. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Meringolo has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to co-founding PMRK Law, he was the Managing Partner of Snyder, Miller & Orton LLP for seven years and worked as an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP, Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and Gilbert LLP.
Mr. Meringolo is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in Northern California from 2020 to 2026. He is also involved in pro bono work, assisting veterans, immigrants, and others in need through organizations such as Swords to Plowshares. Additionally, he has served on the boards of various non-profit organizations, including the Embarcadero YMCA, the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology, the Yale Center for Faith & Culture, and Catholic Charities of San Diego.
