Peter J — Tepley is a partner at RumbergerKirk in Birmingham, Alabama, specializing in commercial litigation. He represents securities broker-dealers, including clearing brokers, and their registered representatives in customer, employment, and industry disputes through FINRA arbitrations and in state and federal courts. Additionally, he defends public and private companies, along with their officers and directors, in complex business disputes such as business torts and breach of contract cases. Tepley also handles class actions, including securities class actions, and represents fiduciaries and other parties in will contests and breach of fiduciary duty cases. Before his legal career, Tepley spent nearly a decade in the computer software industry. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993.
He was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as Legislative Editor for the South Carolina Environmental Law Journal.
