About Peter J.

Peter J. Nosal built a steady academic foundation before entering the practice of law. He earned a B.A. in Politics from Wake Forest University in 1993, followed by an M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina–Charlotte in 2003. He completed his legal studies at the University of South Carolina School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2006.

After law school, Nosal began practicing in South Carolina. Over time he joined the local legal community and maintained ties to professional organizations. He is a member of the York County Bar Association, where he has participated in bar activities and local legal events.

Alongside his civilian practice, Nosal has served in the South Carolina National Guard Judge Advocate General’s Corps since 2011. In that capacity he has provided legal support to service members and commanders on a range of military legal issues. The JAG role has kept him engaged with matters that cross civil and military lines and has informed how he approaches legal questions for clients with service connections.

Nosal practices at Nosal & Jeter, LLP. At the firm he handles matters for individuals and businesses across the state. He brings the analytical training of his law degree together with his earlier humanities education. That combination shapes his legal writing and helps him explain complex issues to people who are not lawyers.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and straightforward in courtroom settings. He has taken cases through negotiation and into contested proceedings when necessary. His long-term ties in the community and ongoing service in the National Guard have kept him involved in both local and military legal circles.

Outside the office he has remained connected to civic and professional networks in York County. He continues to balance practice at the firm with duties in the JAG corps. He now concentrates his practice at Nosal & Jeter, LLP, representing clients in matters arising under South Carolina law.
