About Peter G.
Peter G. Billings is a Connecticut attorney who has practiced on the criminal defense side since finishing law school in 2009. He built his early legal foundation through classroom work and courtroom observation, then moved quickly into active practice. His career has been steady, centered on representing individuals in state criminal matters.
Billings earned his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2009. He completed undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut in 2006, graduating with a B.A. in English and Political Science. The combination of liberal arts and legal training shaped his approach to legal writing and courtroom advocacy.
Soon after law school he joined local professional organizations and began developing a practice in Connecticut. He has been a member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2009. He also holds memberships in the New Haven County Bar and, since 2011, the Hartford County Bar Association. Those affiliations have kept him connected to peers and to continuing education on criminal law topics.
In court, Billings appears in state trial courts across Connecticut. He handles a range of criminal matters and represents clients at arraignments, pretrial hearings and trials. Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as prepared and straightforward at hearings. He works to test the government’s case through investigation and evidentiary challenges, and he prepares for trial when cases cannot be resolved earlier.
Billings practices at Billings, Barrett & Bowman, LLC. At the firm he collaborates with other trial lawyers on case strategy, discovery, and motion practice. The firm handles defense matters at multiple stages of the criminal process and represents clients before judges and juries throughout Connecticut.
Outside the courtroom he stays involved in the bar associations that have been part of his professional life since 2009. He attends seminars and panels to keep current on changes to criminal procedure and case law. He remains based in Connecticut and continues to represent clients in state criminal matters. He currently practices at Billings, Barrett & Bowman, LLC, where his work centers on criminal defense in Connecticut.
