About Peter E.
Peter E. Alizio combined studies in business and taxation before turning to law. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in accounting, from Boston University. He continued his study of tax matters at Long Island University’s C.W. Post Campus, where he completed a Master of Science in Taxation. He finished his formal legal training at St. John’s University School of Law, receiving a J.D.
Those academic choices shaped a career that sits between accounting and legal practice. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the New York State Education Department’s Office of the Professions. He is admitted to practice in New York and is authorized to appear before the U.S. Tax Court. After law school he moved into tax practice and has since handled matters that require both tax accounting and legal analysis.
Alizio has worked as a tax lawyer at Alizio Law, PLLC. In that role he handles client matters that range from compliance and planning to dispute resolution. He represents individuals and business clients on federal and state tax questions and manages litigation when tax controversies escalate. His work involves preparing filings, negotiating with tax authorities, and representing clients in procedural and contested settings.
Beyond private practice he has maintained an academic presence. He serves as an adjunct professor at St. John’s University’s College of Professional Studies. In the classroom he draws on his combined accounting and legal background to explain technical tax issues to students preparing for professional careers. The adjunct post keeps him engaged with current teaching methods and emerging issues in tax education.
His professional affiliations include membership in the Nassau County Bar Association and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Those memberships connect him to local and statewide professional networks in both law and accounting. He participates in the community of practitioners who handle tax, accounting, and business matters, and he stays current with changes in tax law and administrative practice.
He maintains his practice at Alizio Law, PLLC where he continues to accept matters in tax planning, compliance, and controversy. His current work centers on representing clients in tax disputes and advising on tax reporting and strategy.
