About Peter

Peter Bade earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2006 after completing a B.A. in Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2001. He built his academic foundation on study of law and government during a period when immigration and employment issues were drawing increased public attention. That background helped shape his interest in legal practice that touches public policy and private-sector compliance.

After law school Bade began practicing in California. He is licensed to practice in the state and has spent his career working on immigration-related matters. Over time he gravitated toward the kinds of transactional and advisory work that national employers and individual clients require when dealing with cross-border personnel and regulatory filings.

Bade joined Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, a firm known for its immigration practice, where he applies his training to client matters. His work involves preparing and managing immigration filings, guiding employers through compliance obligations, and assisting individuals with visa processes and related petitions. He writes and speaks to clients in plain terms and aims to keep complex procedures understandable.

Professionally, he has maintained membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has been active in the Northern California chapter of AILA since 2011 and takes part in chapter programs and continuing education opportunities. That involvement keeps him current on rule changes and administrative practice, and it gives him access to a community of practitioners who regularly exchange technical updates and practical strategies.

Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in approach. He tends to favor clear timelines and checklists when managing cases, and he prioritizes procedural accuracy. That approach is useful in administrative processes where timing and documentation are decisive. He also engages with employers on compliance reviews and internal policy matters when those issues arise in the course of representation.

Outside the office he has remained connected to legal education and professional development events in Northern California. He attends conferences and workshops, and he contributes to firm efforts to translate regulatory changes into actionable guidance for clients. He currently focuses on immigration law at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP.
