About Peter A

Peter A Fish earned his B.A. in American Government from the University of Virginia in 1983 and returned to the same university for his law degree, receiving a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1988. Those years of study framed his understanding of law and government. They also set the stage for a long career practicing in the mid-Atlantic.

After completing law school, Fish entered legal practice. He is licensed to practice in both the District of Columbia and Virginia. Over the course of more than three decades, he has handled matters in courts and administrative forums across those jurisdictions. He built a record of steady, professional work rather than public fanfare.

His professional life has taken place largely in private practice. Fish has experience advising clients, preparing legal documents, and representing interests in proceedings when representation was required. He has dealt with case preparation, negotiations, and courtroom appearances. Colleagues describe him as methodical in how he approaches fact development and legal strategy.

Fish’s academic background in American government informs how he assesses regulatory and procedural issues. He brings that background to bear when advising clients on compliance and procedural options. His experience includes drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and presenting oral argument. He also spends time counseling clients about the practical effects of legal choices and likely timelines for resolution.

Today, Fish practices at Reston Law Group, LLP. There he continues to serve clients in the District of Columbia and Virginia. He maintains a practice that centers on client counseling, litigation readiness, and resolving disputes through negotiation or trial when appropriate. His current practice focuses on advising and representing clients in matters brought or defended in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
