About Pete

Pete Lepiscopo moved from circuit boards to courtrooms. He began his professional life as an engineer in the early 1980s and turned to law before founding his own firm in 1989. The move stitched together two careers that might otherwise have run on parallel tracks.

His technical career started in avionics and defense electronics. In 1981 he worked for L-3 Loral Corporation on avionics systems. Two years later he joined General Dynamics' Electronics Division. By 1985 he was at Scientific Atlanta, engaged in hardware and software design for anti-submarine warfare projects. That hands-on engineering work lasted through the mid-1980s and left him fluent in technical detail and system-level thinking.

He founded Lepiscopo & Associates Law Office in 1989. Since then he has maintained a practice anchored in California while gaining admission to several federal courts. His admissions include the California bar and appearances before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit and the Ninth Circuit. He built the firm into a practice with a main base and satellite offices in Orange County and Sacramento.

Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical. He brings the same approach to legal problems that he once applied to circuit layouts and embedded code. That background shows up in how he reads technical exhibits, prepares expert testimony and frames discovery in cases that turn on engineering or scientific detail. He is comfortable translating complex technical concepts into plain terms for judges and juries.

Over the years Lepiscopo has handled matters that require blending legal analysis with technical understanding. He has worked on litigation where product design, software performance and system integration were central issues. That combination of disciplines gives him a practical perspective when cases require expert consultation, detailed document review or the preparation of technical demonstrations for court.

He runs his practice from Lepiscopo & Associates Law Office while maintaining the two satellite offices. He continues to accept matters that involve civil litigation and disputes with significant technical components. He maintains an active practice in California and in the federal courts where he is admitted, handling cases that intersect law and technology.
