About Perry N.
Perry N. Salzhauer built his legal foundation at Vanderbilt University Law School, where he earned his J.D. in 2002. He later returned to study environmental law and completed an LL.M. in Environmental & Natural Resources Law from Lewis & Clark College in 2014. Those academic choices shaped the trajectory of his practice and informed the sectors he would work in over the next two decades.
He began his legal career in private practice. After graduating from Vanderbilt, he joined Sidley Austin in 2002. Two years later he moved to Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, working as a lawyer on matters that often blended regulatory and transactional questions. In 2007 he left private practice for a role at the University of California, Berkeley, serving as a contracts specialist and gaining hands-on experience with institutional contracting and compliance.
Salzhauer returned to private practice in 2015 as a partner at Green Light Law Group. There his title reflected the combination of work he was doing: corporate and environmental law. The role involved advising companies on regulatory obligations, structuring deals, and addressing environmental permitting and compliance issues. His membership in the Oregon State Bar and licensure across New York, Washington and Oregon supported multi-jurisdictional matters for clients inside and outside the region.
In 2023 he joined McGlinchey Stafford as a partner. The move placed him in a broader firm platform while continuing the mix of corporate and environmental work he had handled for years. He also maintains ties to industry organizations; he is a current member of the New York Cannabis Growers & Processors Association, reflecting work in the agricultural and cannabis sectors that intersects with environmental regulation and corporate structuring.
Those professional stops show an attorney comfortable in both transactional and regulatory settings. He has alternated between in-house contracting work and firm-based practice, which has shaped a practical approach to client problems. He has handled contracts, compliance reviews, permitting questions and corporate matters that touch environmental and industry-specific rules.
Today he practices from a partner role at McGlinchey Stafford, counseling clients on corporate transactions, environmental compliance, and related regulatory issues. He focuses on corporate, environmental, and cannabis regulatory matters.
