About Penny A.
Penny A. Parker built a foundation in economics before she turned to the law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan in 1989, then continued her studies at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1994. That combination of analytical training and legal education shaped the way she approaches client matters.
After law school Parker began practicing law in the mid-1990s. Over the years she took on a variety of matters that required both courtroom poise and careful transactional work. She gained experience representing clients across a range of disputes and business-related issues. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic; she aims to resolve problems efficiently when possible and to advocate firmly when needed.
Parker is associated with Kecskes, Gadd & Parker, P.C., where her name appears among the firm’s principals. The firm structure reflects long-standing professional relationships that grew from shared cases and mutual respect. Within that setting she has worked alongside other attorneys on matters that involve negotiations, litigation preparation, and counseling for individuals and companies.
Her economics background informs how she frames legal problems. She tends to look at the practical consequences of a legal strategy and the economic trade-offs clients face. That perspective can come in handy when dealing with contract disputes, commercial issues or situations where financial analysis matters. She balances legal research and precedent with an eye toward outcomes and cost-effectiveness.
Parker’s courtroom experience includes appearances in state trial courts and participation in settlement conferences. She prepares witnesses, drafts pleadings and handles discovery. In transactional work she has drafted agreements and advised clients on the legal implications of business decisions. Over time she has maintained a steady caseload while mentoring younger attorneys at the firm.
Outside of casework she has kept ties to the local legal community and stayed current on developments in law that affect her clients. She approaches each matter fact by fact and seeks to give clients clear explanations of their options and likely consequences. She currently practices at Kecskes, Gadd & Parker, P.C., handling a range of matters for individual and business clients.
