About Penelope M

Penelope M Quintero earned an S.J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles in 2014 after several years of graduate study. The doctorate capped a sequence of legal and academic training that began at the University of California campuses she attended earlier in the decade. Her academic record reflects sustained engagement with legal research and scholarly writing.

Before returning to law in a practicing role, Quintero completed undergraduate work at the University of California - Riverside, where she received a B.A. in 2010. She also spent time at the University of California - Santa Barbara in 2006, part of the path that led her toward advanced legal study. The S.J.D. represents a less common route for lawyers who combine advanced scholarship with practice.

Quintero is admitted to the bar in New Mexico. That state admission has shaped the geographic focus of her professional work. She has worked inside the legal community there, moving between matters that require both analytic depth and attention to procedural detail.

Her legal training emphasizes research, drafting and critical analysis. Those skills have been applied in representation of clients and in preparation of legal arguments. Colleagues describe her approach as careful and methodical; she tends to build cases step by step and to pay close attention to factual records and statutory text.

Quintero practices at O Brien & Padilla, P.C., where she is based in New Mexico. At the firm she has taken on a mix of responsibilities that include client counseling, preparation of filings, and courtroom work when litigation is appropriate. Her background in advanced legal study informs how she prepares briefs and organizes case strategy.

She continues to draw on academic training while handling day-to-day practice demands. Her current work centers on serving clients in matters arising under New Mexico law.
