About Pauldeep
Pauldeep Bains studied economics at the University of California, Davis, earning a B.S. in 2006. He went on to law school at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and received his J.D. in 2009. Those years set a clear path toward bankruptcy practice, combining an understanding of financial systems with legal training.
He began his legal career in 2010 as an associate at Coggins Johnston. The role introduced him to client counseling, litigation fundamentals and the procedural rigors of bankruptcy court. Two years later he joined Bankruptcy Law Group as an associate, expanding his exposure to both consumer and business filings. Those positions put him before judges and trustees across California and shaped a practice centered on insolvency work.
In 2016 he became managing lawyer at Sacramento Bankruptcy Lawyer. The move shifted him into firm leadership. He took on case oversight, courtroom work and administrative responsibilities. Managing other attorneys, coordinating filings and guiding clients through chapters 7 and 13 became regular parts of his work. His trajectory shows steady movement from associate duties to a managerial role within a practice devoted to bankruptcy matters.
Bains has been active in professional circles. He has held memberships in legal organizations since 2009 and joined the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum in 2016. Those memberships offer a forum for continuing education and peer discussion about developments in bankruptcy law, including changes to local practice and procedural updates that affect debtors and creditors alike.
Colleagues describe his work as practical and procedural. He focuses on the mechanics of case preparation, creditor negotiations and confirmation hearings. For debtors, that often means preparing exemptions and bankruptcy schedules, attending 341 meetings and arguing motions when needed. For small businesses, it can involve cash-flow analysis, plan formulation and dealing with secured creditors.
Outside the courtroom, Bains’s background in economics informs how he evaluates client finances and prepares budgets for repayment plans. That combination of financial and legal training shapes how he approaches filings and creditor communications. He practices in California and leads the Sacramento Bankruptcy Lawyer office where he handles consumer and small-business bankruptcy matters.
