About Paula Oliveira
Paula Oliveira Brunoro trained as a lawyer in Brazil before expanding her studies in the United States. She earned an LL.B. from Faculdade de Direito de Vitoria in 2009, followed by an LL.M. in Business and Corporate Law from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2012. She later completed an LL.M. in Taxation at New York University School of Law in 2016.
Her early legal work began while she was still a student. In 2004 she served as a judicial extern for a Brazilian magistrate. She took on internships and clerkships at firms and public institutions over the next several years, including roles at Fiorot Advogados Associados and the Tribunal de Contas da União. She worked as a student attorney at her law school’s legal clinic in 2008, gaining hands-on experience in client counseling and case preparation.
After finishing her LL.B., Brunoro continued to build practice experience in Brazil and then in the United States. In 2012 she held positions at Galuppo & Blake APLC and at Girolami Legal Group APC, and volunteered in small claims court mediation. She joined RJS Law as a law clerk in 2013 and was an associate there in 2014. Those roles gave her courtroom exposure and practice on transactional matters and disputes.
In 2015 she opened Brunoro Law, where she serves as owner and lawyer. Her dual training in business law and taxation informs the work she does for individuals and businesses. She is admitted to practice in California and Brazil, and she is authorized to appear before the United States Tax Court. Her background combines litigation support, transactional advising and tax matters.
Brunoro has been active in bar and professional groups since moving to the United States. She is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association since 2010 and joined both the San Diego County Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association in 2013. Since 2015 she has served as Secretary of the State Bar of California Taxation Section’s Young Tax Lawyers Committee, a role that involves coordinating meetings and participating in committee initiatives.
Her resume shows a steady progression from judicial and public-sector internships to firm practice and independent practice. She has experience in mediation and small claims proceedings as well as in tax-related forums. Brunoro currently concentrates her practice on tax and business law matters for clients across the U.S. and Brazil.
