About Paul
Paul Reinstein studied political science and government at Villanova University, earning his B.A. in 1977. He went on to receive his J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in 1980. Those years set the stage for a long legal career rooted in Maryland courts.
He is admitted to practice in Maryland and became a partner at Reinstein, Glackin, Patterson & Herriott, LLC in 2012. That role anchors his day-to-day work. He splits time between litigating family law matters and serving as a neutral in settlement processes.
Reinstein's courtroom practice covers matrimonial and family law. He handles divorce cases, child custody and support matters, and disputes over marital property and finances. He also appears in hearings and trials on behalf of clients when negotiated settlements are not possible. His work often requires balancing legal strategy with attention to family dynamics.
Outside contested proceedings, Reinstein serves as an arbitrator and mediator for several Maryland circuit courts. He is currently listed as an arbitrator and mediator in the Calvert County, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and Charles County Circuit Courts. Those appointments keep him connected to alternative dispute resolution practices and to the local bench and bar.
Colleagues and peers know him through professional organizations. He holds membership in the Maryland State Bar Association and the Prince George’s County Bar Association. He served as chair of the Family & Juvenile Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association, a role that involved organizing CLE programs and coordinating with other section leaders on practice issues. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a designation that reflects sustained involvement in matrimonial law circles.
His training and court appointments inform both his advocacy and his work as a neutral. He prepares cases for trial when necessary and seeks resolution paths that fit the family involved. He maintains contacts across Maryland’s family law community and appears regularly in circuit court dockets.
Reinstein practices at Reinstein, Glackin, Patterson & Herriott, LLC, and his practice centers on family law and dispute resolution.
