About Paul
Paul Pawlowski practices law in New Jersey and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He began his career after completing his legal studies and chose a path that balances state and federal appellate work. He built experience in both trial-court practice and appellate briefing, learning the differences between persuading juries and persuading panels of judges.
Early in his career he handled a variety of courtroom matters that required close attention to procedure and written advocacy. That practical grounding shaped the way he approaches appellate work. He learned to distill records and craft concise arguments. He also gained experience preparing parties for oral argument and for the strategic decisions that arise during appeals.
Over the years he has represented clients in state courts across New Jersey and in federal appeals within the Third Circuit. His caseload has included contested appeals, interlocutory matters, and post-judgment proceedings. He has written briefs addressing jurisdictional questions, standards of review, and the preservation of trial objections. He has also argued before appellate panels when cases were granted argument.
Counseling is a regular part of his practice. He assists trial counsel in shaping the record for appeal and advises on whether to seek further review. He prepares dispositive briefs and motions and handles procedural disputes in both state and federal systems. Attention to deadlines and to the rules of appellate procedure is a consistent theme in his work.
Clients range from individuals to small businesses. He works on matters that require careful legal research and clear written presentation. He is known for a straightforward approach to problem solving: identify the real issues, select the right procedural vehicle, and present the argument clearly. He also spends time evaluating settlement options where appropriate.
Outside of hearings and filings he remains engaged with developments in New Jersey law and in Third Circuit decisions. He follows published opinions and uncovers authorities that support his clients’ positions. He currently concentrates his practice on appellate and state-court matters in New Jersey and proceedings before the Third Circuit.
