About Paul
Paul Matiasic built his legal foundation at Santa Clara University and finished his legal training at Pepperdine University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor. He moved into practice in California after law school and established the routine of courtroom work, client meetings and legal research that defines day-to-day practice.
He is admitted to the State Bar of California and maintains an active license to practice in the state. Early in his career he handled a range of matters that gave him exposure to both litigation and transactional work. Over time those early cases shaped how he approaches problem solving: steady, methodical and attentive to the details that matter to judges and opposing counsel alike.
Matiasic practices from the offices of Matiasic & Johnson LLP. He works with colleagues at the firm on matters arising in California courts and before administrative bodies. His colleagues describe him as exacting in preparation and practical in courtroom tactics. That reputation has grown from years spent refining strategy under real case pressures rather than from rhetoric.
Clients who come to him tend to get direct assessments. He aims to set clear expectations about timing, likely outcomes and the cost of different options. He writes pleadings, prepares witness statements and argues motions when the record demands it. He also spends time advising on pretrial choices and settlement possibilities when those routes better serve a client’s interests.
Outside the office he has continued ties to his law school network and to local legal professionals. He attends panels and local bar events and occasionally mentors younger attorneys at the firm. He keeps current on developments in California law through continuing legal education and regular review of court decisions.
