About Paul G.
Paul G. Phillips has spent decades in and around the courtroom. He trained at William & Mary, worked at large firms and then moved into partnership roles. In recent years he has operated his own practice while continuing to sit at counsel table for contested matters in Georgia.
He earned a J.D. from the William & Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1990 after studying liberal arts and sciences as an undergraduate. He holds a B.A. from Middlebury College, where he studied philosophy and physics.
His early career began in firm life. In 1993 he joined Drew, Eckl & Farnham as an associate. That period gave him exposure to the rhythms of litigation and the demands of trial preparation. He handled motion work, discovery and courtroom appearances under senior trial lawyers.
In 1999 he moved into partnership at McCall Phillips. The firm years deepened his experience in litigation strategy and client counseling. He managed teams, prepared cases for trial and engaged in settlement negotiations. Over time his work narrowed toward bench and jury trials.
More recent shifts came in 2021. That year he is listed as a partner at Flynn Peeler Phillips, LLC and also as a trial lawyer at Phillips Law. The dual entries reflect a phase of both firm affiliation and independent practice. He continued to appear in Georgia courts while maintaining responsibilities for case management and trial work.
Throughout his career he has practiced in Georgia. His path runs through the practical demands of courtroom advocacy: drafting pleadings, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions and trying cases. The record shows a steady orientation toward litigation rather than transactional law.
Colleagues describe him as steady in court and exacting in preparation. He brings an analytical background from his undergraduate work to the craft of advocacy, and he relies on that analytical bent when building case theory and cross-examination plans.
He currently operates Phillips Law and continues to try cases in Georgia state courts. His current practice focuses on trial litigation in Georgia.
