About Paul
Paul Englander began his academic and legal formation at the University of Arizona, earning a B.A. in 1976 and continuing at the James E. Rogers College of Law for his J.D., awarded in 1979. His time in Tucson set the stage for a long career practicing in Arizona courts. He remains tied to the state both professionally and personally.
He moved into private practice early and became a partner at Van O Steen & Partners in 1983. That role placed him in front of juries and opposing counsel during a period when jury trials still dominated civil litigation. After two decades of partnership and trial work, he established Paul Englander PLC in 2006. The firm bears his name and reflects a transition from firm partner to the role of lead counsel managing his own practice.
Englander is licensed to practice in Arizona. Over the years he has earned certifications that mark particular areas of courtroom work. Those include Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation through the Arizona State Bar. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and belongs to the American Board of Trial Advocates, organizations that gather trial lawyers who have obtained substantial civil verdicts or verdict experience.
His professional affiliations extend to local and national trial lawyer organizations. He holds a sustaining membership in the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of the American Association for Justice. Outside the courtroom he has taken on roles in his community, serving as a Big Brother for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, a volunteer position that he lists among his ongoing activities.
Colleagues describe his work as courtroom-centered. He has spent much of his career representing injured people and pursuing wrongful death claims. That litigation path has shaped how he approaches case preparation, witness work and trial strategy. He has navigated complex medical testimony and the procedural demands of Arizona civil practice.
Across nearly five decades connected to the law school and courts of Arizona, Englander has kept trial practice at the center of his career. He practices under the name Paul Englander PLC, handling injury and wrongful death litigation in Arizona courts.
