About Paul

Paul Bertoni built his professional foundation at two of the country's well-known schools. He earned a B.A. in political science from Yale University in 1993 and completed his legal training at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1997. Those years set the stage for a practice that crosses state lines and professional networks.

After law school he gained admission to practice in both New York and New Jersey. Over the years he has handled matters that require familiarity with the courts and administrative bodies in both states. Admissions in two neighboring jurisdictions have allowed him to represent clients on matters that touch state-specific rules and procedures as well as federal processes that reach across borders.

Bertoni has been active in professional associations that align with parts of his practice. He has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 2003. That long-standing membership has put him in regular contact with peers who practice immigration law and with sources of continuing legal education and professional guidance. He also maintains other professional memberships and participates in the association activities common to attorneys who practice across New York and New Jersey.

His work is carried out from offices serving clients in the New York–New Jersey area. He combines the academic foundation of Yale and Berkeley with experience in two state bars and sustained involvement in professional associations. As of 2026 he practices law in New York and New Jersey, and his work includes immigration law.
