About Patrick R
Patrick R Sughroue built his professional life around business law. He trained as an accountant of sorts in the classroom and as a counselor to companies at the table. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Notre Dame, completing undergraduate studies in 1980 after beginning in 1976. He went on to Wayne State University Law School, where he received his J.D. in 1983 and pursued an emphasis in law and business during the early 1980s.
Since earning his law degree, Sughroue has practiced in Michigan. His work has been rooted in commercial and corporate matters, helping owners, managers and boards handle routine governance, contracts and transactional issues. He has spent decades advising clients whose needs sit at the intersection of business planning and legal risk. Those years in practice shaped a practical, problem-solving approach to everyday corporate questions.
Sughroue’s involvement in the business community extends beyond client work. He has been a member of the Association for Corporate Growth since 2018, connecting with executives, investors and advisors on deals and growth strategies. That professional network complements his role in private practice and reflects his interest in the commercial forces that affect client decisions.
Colleagues and clients describe Sughroue as steady and attentive. He tends to take on matters where clear legal structure matters most: drafting and reviewing agreements, advising on governance and helping businesses close transactions. He handles negotiations and documentation that accompany commercial deals. He also spends time counseling small and mid-size enterprises on legal frameworks that support operational stability.
Over the years, Sughroue has managed a caseload that ranges from contract disputes to routine corporate housekeeping. He adapts legal solutions to the commercial environment his clients face. That practical orientation has defined his work in Michigan’s legal market.
He is currently based at The Business Law Group. There he continues to serve corporate and business clients, advising on transactional matters, corporate governance and contract work that arise in the ordinary course of business.
