About Patrick
Patrick McGlashan is the managing lawyer of McGlashan Law Office, P.C., a practice based in New York. He has built a career that moves from finance into law. His path is deliberate and measured, shaped by service, markets and courtroom practice.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics & Finance from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1994. More than a decade later he completed his legal education at Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, receiving his J.D. in 2006.
McGlashan's early career began outside the legal field. He served as a Second Lieutenant in the New York Army National Guard in 1990. He worked as an intern at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 1993. After college he worked as a stock broker at boutique brokerage firms beginning in 1994 and later served as a financial advisor at Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. in 1998. Those years provided front-line experience with markets, clients and regulatory environments.
Law became the next stop. After law school he joined Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in 2006. He gained experience in a large firm setting and then opened his own practice. In 2011 he became the managing lawyer of McGlashan Law Office, P.C., the firm he runs today.
He holds memberships in several professional organizations. He has been a member of the New York State Bar and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York since 2007. He joined the Brooklyn Bar Association in 2011 and remains a member. Those affiliations place him in the professional networks that shape practice and procedure in New York.
Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical. He combines experience from brokerage and financial advising with legal training gained at a national law firm. He runs his own firm and manages its daily work, client intake and case strategy.
He practices in New York and leads McGlashan Law Office, P.C., representing clients in matters arising under the state's laws.
