About Patrick Kenneth

Patrick Kenneth Brown has a long and varied educational background that crosses law, psychology and pastoral counseling. He earned a B.S. in Psychology from Wesleyan University (1971). He went on to receive a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law (1975). Later, he completed an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and Pastoral Counseling at Christian Theological Seminary (1995). That combination of legal training and therapeutic study shaped a career that bridges dispute resolution and client counseling.

Brown moved into dispute resolution and bar work early in his post-law-school life. Over the years he has taken on leadership roles in state and local organizations tied to mediation and alternative dispute resolution. He was a founding member of the Indiana Association of Mediators in 1993 and served as its president from 1997 to 1999. Those roles put him in the center of efforts to professionalize mediation in Indiana during the 1990s.

His involvement with the Indiana State Bar Association has been sustained and varied. He joined the Association’s Section Council in 2003 and has remained active. He chaired the ADR Section from 2010 to 2012 and served as Vice-Chair of a section from 2018 through 2020. The Indiana Supreme Court appointed him to the IN ADR Rules Review Task Force for 2014–2015, and he was a member of the Pro Se Task Force from 2010 to 2012. These appointments reflect how peers and courts have relied on him for the procedural and policy questions that surround mediation and access to justice.

Brown’s work draws on both his legal training and his counseling education. He has experience in mediation, facilitation and resolving disputes outside the courtroom. His practice style is informed by understanding interpersonal dynamics, family systems and the procedural needs of litigants and nonlitigants alike. That mix has made him a regular presence where legal process meets human conflict.

He practices through The Resolution Center LLC. There he conducts mediations and works on alternative dispute resolution matters. He maintains an active role in state-level ADR conversations and continues to engage with bar association projects related to mediation rules and pro se access. He currently practices at The Resolution Center LLC, handling mediation and alternative dispute resolution matters.
