About Patrick
Patrick Hunn trained as an economist before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Illinois State University and later took up legal studies at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he received his J.D. He combines those two backgrounds when evaluating cases and advising clients.
He is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Missouri. Early in his career he worked on a range of criminal matters, learning how state courts operate and how prosecutors approach cases. That on-the-ground courtroom experience shaped his approach to defense work: prepare carefully, test every piece of evidence, and make plain arguments to judges and juries.
Hunn belongs to the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Williamson County Bar Association. He participates in local bar activities and attends training that keeps him current on changes in criminal procedure and evidence law. Those memberships place him in regular contact with other defense lawyers and provide a forum for discussing strategy and new legal developments.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in trial preparation and direct in courtroom advocacy. He handles arraignments, pretrial motions, plea negotiations and jury trials. On any given day he might argue a suppression motion, interview witnesses, or prepare cross-examinations. He tends to prioritize clarity in written briefs and economy in oral argument. Clients report that he explains options plainly and maps out likely outcomes rather than offering optimistic promises.
He practices at Hunn Klingemann, P.C., where he represents clients in criminal defense matters across Illinois and Missouri. His current work centers on defending individuals charged with state crimes and addressing related procedural issues.
