About Patrick G.

Patrick G. King is an Illinois- and Missouri-licensed attorney who practices from an office at MillerKing LLC. He holds a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and earned a B.A. in political science and history from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Those academic roots shaped an interest in courtroom work and public service that has threaded through his career.

He began practicing in Missouri after joining The Missouri Bar in 2010 and later gained admission in Illinois. Early in his professional life he served as a Special Defender in criminal and juvenile cases in 2013. That role placed him inside courtrooms and community settings, handling contested matters for clients who needed court-appointed representation.

In 2011 he established King Law Office, LLC, where he took on a range of civil and criminal matters. The firm offered a smaller, hands-on environment where he handled trials and pretrial work. In 2018 he became a partner at MillerKing LLC. The move expanded his practice platform while keeping litigation and courtroom appearances central to his work.

King has maintained ties to legal institutions across the region. He has served as president of the Alton-Wood River Bar Association and previously led the Madison County Bar Association during 2019–2020. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He is also a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Outside of association leadership he has engaged in legal education efforts. From 2016 to 2018 he participated on the Paralegal Advisory Board Committee at Lewis & Clark Community College, advising on curriculum and practical training for paralegal students.

Colleagues describe King as a lawyer who returns regularly to the fundamentals of litigation: preparation, clear argument and steady courtroom presence. He has handled both defense work in criminal and juvenile proceedings and civil litigation that requires negotiation and trial readiness. His dual admission in Missouri and Illinois has allowed him to practice across state lines and manage cases in different judicial settings.

Today he continues to work at MillerKing LLC. His practice encompasses civil litigation, criminal defense and juvenile matters and remains centered on courtroom advocacy and case management.
