About Patrick
Patrick Duff built his legal foundation in the Midwest. He earned a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2011 and holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Calvin College. Those classroom years set the stage for a practice centered in Michigan.
He began teaching early in his career. In 2012 he served as an adjunct professor at Michigan State University College of Law, returning to a campus that had shaped his own legal training. Around the same time he entered private practice and took on litigation matters that kept him engaged in day-to-day courtroom work and client counseling.
Duff is a lawyer at Bolhouse, Hofstee & McLean Lawyers At Law. He works within Michigan’s courts and regulatory systems. He is a member of the Michigan State Bar, and his professional activities are concentrated in the state where he is licensed to practice.
Professional service has been a steady part of his résumé. In 2018 he served as president of the Grand Rapids Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section. That role put him in contact with judges, administrative law officials, defense counsel and claimant representatives, and required him to help organize education and discussion about the evolving law in that area. He also joined the Michigan Association for Justice in 2015, participating in a statewide network of trial lawyers and attending events tied to courtroom practice and advocacy.
His background combines classroom work and bar leadership. The adjunct position gave him a chance to break down complex legal issues for students. The bar section presidency involved administrative duties and program planning. Membership in professional groups has kept him current on statutory and regulatory changes that affect injured workers and others who pursue claims in Michigan.
Duff’s practice includes representation of clients in workers’ compensation matters and related proceedings before administrative agencies and state courts. He handles case preparation, hearings and appeals when necessary. Colleagues and clients see him regularly in hearings and status conferences across the state.
He maintains an active role at Bolhouse, Hofstee & McLean Lawyers At Law and is involved in professional organizations that address trial and workers’ compensation practice. He represents clients in Michigan workers’ compensation matters and related claims.
