About Patrick
Patrick Bowers took a direct route into the law. He completed a B.A. in Political Science, graduating cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2006. He went on to earn a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2009.
After law school he chose to practice in California and has built a career there. His work centers on criminal defense matters, and over time he has concentrated on cases involving driving under the influence. In 2014 he began affiliating with groups devoted to DUI defense, and those connections have shaped his continuing education and professional network.
Bowers joined the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and the California DUI Lawyers Association in 2014. He is also a member of The National College for DUI Defense (Harvard Law School), a group that offers intensive training and peer review for lawyers who handle impaired driving cases. He has maintained those memberships since 2014, using the training opportunities they provide to stay current on evolving law and science in DUI litigation.
Clients and colleagues describe him as practical and methodical. He prepares cases for court and for negotiation. He works through evidentiary issues, stops and searches, chemical testing and refusal questions, and statutory and procedural defenses that often arise in DUI matters. He explains options plainly and presses for outcomes that reflect the facts of each case.
Bowers balances time in court with time spent on legal research and client counseling. He pays attention to changes in California DUI law and to developments in forensic testing. He also draws on professional workshops and seminars offered by his associations to refine trial techniques and cross-examination strategies.
He is licensed to practice in California and remains active in the DUI defense community. He currently focuses his practice on representing clients charged with DUI and related criminal matters in California courts.
