About Patrick

Patrick Beddow built his path to law from a background in accounting and business finance. He studied at Carroll College before earning his J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2009. Those early academic choices left him comfortable with numbers and detail. They also shaped the way he approaches client problems: methodically and with attention to practical consequences.

He entered private practice a few years after law school. In 2012 he joined Crowley Fleck PLLP as an associate. The position exposed him to a range of transactional and land-related matters common in the region. Four years later he made partner at Patten, Peterman, Bekkedahl & Green, PLLC, where he carried increased responsibility for client work and firm management. In 2023 he moved into a partner role at Karell Kimmet Beddow PLLP, the firm where he currently practices.

Beddow’s bar memberships span three states. He holds active membership in the Montana State Bar, the North Dakota Bar and the Wyoming State Bar. His involvement in professional groups includes membership in the Montana Association of Professional Landmen, a connection he has maintained since 2015. Those affiliations reflect the geographic reach of his practice and a sustained interest in land and resource issues.

Colleagues describe him as practical in litigation settings and pragmatic in transactions. He has worked on matters that require both legal analysis and an ability to reconcile contractual terms with on-the-ground realities. His accounting background often factors into negotiations and document review. It gives him an edge when titles, leases, and financial provisions intersect.

Over the years Beddow has balanced client work with firm duties. As a partner he has overseen teams on multi-jurisdictional matters and handled matters that cut across Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota. He has experience guiding clients through title examinations, lease disputes and regulatory filings, and he has advised landowners and companies on transactional steps.

He remains based at Karell Kimmet Beddow PLLP, where he practices across state lines and handles matters tied to land and energy. His current work centers on land and energy matters in Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota.
