About Pamala
Pamala Favreau built a legal career that began in the public sector and moved into private practice. She took the conventional path through law school and into courtrooms, then set up her own practice in the mid-1990s.
Favreau earned her J.D. from Western New England University School of Law in 1989 after completing a B.S. in Business Administration at Eastern Connecticut State University in 1986. Her time in law school included practical experience; she worked as a legal intern at the Hartford-area firm Flaherty, Meisler & Courtney in 1987.
She entered public defense work immediately after law school. In 1989 she joined the State of Connecticut Division of Public Defender Services as an assistant public defender. That role put her in regular contact with judges, prosecutors and juries across the state. It also provided early courtroom experience handling criminal matters for clients who relied on public representation.
In 1995 she opened her own firm, the Law Office of Pamala J. Favreau. Running a solo practice required shifting from an institutional setting to managing every aspect of representation and practice administration. Over the years she has handled trial work and appeals, and she has maintained admissions beyond the state bench; she is admitted to practice in Connecticut and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Favreau has pursued professional training in areas tied to modern criminal investigation. She holds certification as a Cell Phone Examiner through the Public Agency Training Council. That credential aligns with the increasing role of digital evidence in criminal cases and appeals, and she has used the training to examine and contest digital forensics in litigation.
Her professional memberships extend across local and national groups. She has been a member of the Connecticut Bar Association since 1989. Since 2001 she has been affiliated with the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Lawyers Guild. She is also a member of the Connecticut Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Colleagues describe her as an attorney who has moved fluidly between trial assignments and appellate work, maintaining steady courtroom involvement over decades. She continues to practice from her solo office, handling criminal defense matters and appeals in state and federal forums.
She maintains an active solo practice representing clients in criminal cases and appeals.
